At 50 foot with clean, elegant lines, the waterline length of the Quest 50 Sailing Catamaran is ideal for overnight or day-charter work with a kick on the performance side. The Quest 50 is also characterised by easily driven hulls, a performance-orientated sail plan, dagger boards and a layout chosen for its dual purpose of overnight and day-charter work.
The Quest 50 Sailing Catamaran was launched in January 2018.
The Quest 50 was home-built by an advocate in Buhrmansdrif in the North West province of South Africa, 1350 km from Cape Town. Hundreds of km from the sea, it was an unlikely location for boat-building, but the project was nothing short of impressive.
The owner-builder nutured his love for sailing by constructing an impressive catamaran, named Injabulo, which is Zulu for “happiness”. Once complete, the owner and his wife launched Injabulo in Richards bay, sailed her to Cape Town and then onto the Caribbean.
